All bodies depreciates, unless they are Leica collectibles... Most lenses depreciates, unless they are Leica M mount lenses like the Noctilux, Summilux and sometimes Summicrons... :bsmilie:

Though I don't do that. When I buy, I buy the gear that I need when I feel I need it. I don't worry about depreciation, etc. That's classic SG kiasuism there.
It's a niche camera so can't expect too many in a shop. But I saw the camera in click! and slr revo yesterday. Price is controlled by Sony. They can't give discount at the moment. Give it some time and the price will drop.
Prices for Sony is always controlled. Ask any of the shops and I doubt that is the reason they "can't" give discount. I would be more inclined to believe that they "do not" need to give discount now given the demand exceed the supply. Why give discount when you don't have to.
Having said that, I am pretty sure if you approached them nicely/appropriately, discounts can be obtained (especially for regulars unless they really don't mind losing the regulars). The question would be the quantum of the discount

I am assuming he is in the transit area - probably 7% (for GST) and a discount of 5% (maybe that shop having a storewide 5% or something). That would have sounds logical to me.

Well, the EVF will get me back into the Leica fold ... with peaking so that will remind me of Sony, and it's 90-degree angle of Olympus

I got my first EVF accessory... and it is a Sony
. I have to admit that it is a huge leap forward in terms of technology. Getting used to it on the RX1. Love the information display which optical VFs obviously lack.All in, if you add the VF, hood and case, it is really a $5k PnS at today's prices.
