Sony - RX1

Can try at least reading about the rx1 before asking something that off?

I see negativity in this post. I have read up articles mostly from overseas sources in the web and mention of other lens mount is a possibility. Hence, i decided to make a post.

Isn't this forum about sharing? Have my track records show similar questions or just to score hits??? ;)

Thanks for the information. I read up in Sony site and could not find a firm no to getting body only deal.

Appreciate it.

There's no body only. Faintz.

Hi,

Does RX1 comes with only body or the 35mm f2 comes with the body as a package?

Thank you.
Sony only sells the single lens kit in S'pore for the time being. I'm waiting for the body-only kit myself.

No offense but, those sources you've read are either too damn wrong, or you interpret it wrongly.

Prolly mixed up with nex9 discussions and the rx1

What articles? Do tell. I'd like to know what websites post pure misinformation and idiocy. I have not found a single article that has gotten it wrong. Which means either you are using sources that are not photographic, or totally failed to understand them.

Relax :)

I don't see any negativity, perhaps more of straight talking lol. I see Rashkae himself sharing a lot of his wisdom and knowledge all the time. I guess it's the case of the bark is worse than the bite :D

I only bite if she's cute and into it. ;-)

Hey cool!!! I am only looking for the lens to attach it to my nex6. Perhaps we can buy it and then split the camera into half!! But not sure if we can use a screwdriver or must use a saw  I really dun want to damage the cam....

Disclaimer (so as not to confused those who are already confused): This is a joke-post. The lens is not detachable from the camera (unless by force or tools).

I know it is a 35mn fix lens that cannot zoom. But can I detach the Carl zeiss lens and use on a leica M9 since the lens is for full frame?
Think of biting only the lens

It's a compact camera on steroids. It's a permanently attached lens, like all compact cameras.

Please do try to educate yourself first with the dozens of reviews, previews and the many posts all describing this camera in detail before posting here.

Hmm, given the above posts / queries on the concept of RX1 or what a fixed lens is (which I am kinda surprised - thus, my joke-poking post above) and giving the benefit of the doubt to some of the users (and their research results/understanding/etc), it seems that either Sony marketing / advertising was not clear enough or has failed to let everyone know what it is.

Like Rashkae said, all the articles I read are very clear to me that will not result in me asking some of the questions above. But then again, I hope those users dont take to heart of some of our comments/replies (which may not be what they want to hear). *cheers*

Rx1 is a fixed focal lens point and shoot. Cannot change lenses ........

May not be impossible with Miyazaki san who is renowned for lens conversion, such as the Contax G Biogon 21mm f2.8 into M mount, or even deteching the hexanon lens from the Hexar AF and modify it to be rf coupled.... that said, whether is it feasible cost wise, only you can answer that! :)

In this case, we could in theory convert the RX1 to mount MF M Lenses and make it an interchangeable body? :bsmilie:

And maybe one day, camera's can be built like LEGO.

N we can use mind control to focus, set all the settings and press the shutter? :bsmilie:

I don't think it will work, mate. The RX1 is a mirrorless camera and therefore uses the m43 mount obviously.

But I heard Sony is planning to release a zoom adapter you can attach to the lens. Looking forward to it!

*snicker*

Aaah the dry German humor again. Wonder how many fall for it.
