Nope. The rx1 was specifically designed the way it was. It's not because of nex. It's because Sony wants to create new markets, and also show that they are innovators.

Sony would not care if it cannibalizes the NEX sales, so long as in the end you are still buying a sony. In fact, profit margins on the rx1 may even be much higher than nex, considering how many people only buy a nex body but don't use sony lenses.

Currently already 3 sets of RX1 on the BNS. Will see more when the "buy-first" heat is over.

Then price will drop nicely.....

Already got my M9P, which is also a full frame... no point getting another one. Moreover, the feeling of a rangefinder shot is very different and can't get from other camera.

With this price, I will rather get the new Canon 6D with the 24-105 L Lense, still keeping some change for other accessories. $3999 will not be enough if you wish to maximise the RX1, as you will need to get EVF, handgrip, etc....

Yeah. Agree wif u. Unless u r a full frame dslr user who needs a 2nd full frame compact for light travel.
