The NEX is selling like hotcakes, sony has no problems with marketshare there. As it is, NEX was a godsend for Voigtlander. At Photokina, all you saw everywhere were NEX cameras.
The small size of the bodies was their main appeal - if they make it the size of the other mirrorless cameras, then the only differentiation will be the sensor size.
Based on the numbers for 2010, Olympus alone held around 70% of the mirrorless market, leaving the 30% to Panasonic, Samsung and Sony. Maybe Sony has sold a lot, but still less compared to the m4/3 systems that are already out and still being sold.
With the lead time m4/3 had, their "maturity" and the variety of lenses the system offers, Sony really needs to get support from third party manufacturers.
