Sony releasing E-Mount specifications

The NEX is selling like hotcakes, sony has no problems with marketshare there. As it is, NEX was a godsend for Voigtlander. At Photokina, all you saw everywhere were NEX cameras.

The small size of the bodies was their main appeal - if they make it the size of the other mirrorless cameras, then the only differentiation will be the sensor size.

Based on the numbers for 2010, Olympus alone held around 70% of the mirrorless market, leaving the 30% to Panasonic, Samsung and Sony. Maybe Sony has sold a lot, but still less compared to the m4/3 systems that are already out and still being sold.

With the lead time m4/3 had, their "maturity" and the variety of lenses the system offers, Sony really needs to get support from third party manufacturers.

A search turns up that 70% market share for Olympus was in Australia. Correct me if I am wrong.

Sony NEX was released in June 2010. To be able to have lens manufacturers support for the new E mount in the near future is good news.

Above is the ranking in Japan for 2010. For a camera released in June 2010, I would say its catching up and heading the right way with this decision.

Very good move by Sony to jump start the lens range, like that they can also sell more cam body as opposed to higher investment and much slower lens sales.

Now, if only Sony incorporate Sensor stabilization and micro-adjustments into the NEX body. :p

AF micro-adjustment is not needed for CDAF system which does not have FF or BF issues like PDAF.

this might be hoax, but can't help to post this.. :p

From the photo, i could see that the Sigma lens is having a filter thread diameter of 46mm.
Dun think that if there will be much options for attaching filter.

Have - the same ones that several Leica M lenses use. Meaning $$$ :(

I am in Bali right now, last minute, I decided to bring along NEX system with me and it has been a wise choice.

It is so light and easy to use, I don't know why I have my A-900 system with f2.8 zoom lenses with me for...

This is a great news for the NEX user really.

Regards,

Hart

I agree too. Did that last Dec and really enjoyed my holiday and photography.

Now with many 3rd party using the e-mount, I wonder if these lenses have in-lens stablization or at least AF motor built-in.

Only time will tell............

Aiyah...I already have the 16mm f/2.8. The 30mm is also a useful length but faster than f/2.8 would be more logical. If they can maintain the same size with f/2 or f/1.8 would be great. I am not talkinn about f/1.4 though because that would be very heavy.:)

I'm curious to know, with the announcement of the new E-Mount line-up, what are the lens and specifications you guys are most looking forward to? :)
