went comex and browsed the offers just now
for nex-5, same pricing(1199 for 18-55mm lens only i think and 1299 for dual kit), comes with 16gb memory card and camera bag.
what i heard is that normally outside they give 8gb memory card.
not really a good deal though, was looking forward to some great deals and considering to buy, but dropped the idea after looking at the offer:cry:
You using kit lens?
can try this.
Check settings first:
Go to menu > Camera > AF / MF Select > Select either "DMF" or "Manual" (MF Assist not available if Autofocus is selected)
Go back to shooting mode > Aim > "Half press" shutter button > turn the focusing ring
hope it helps
hi freeder,
Good qn! Triggers me to meddle with mine to figure this out. this is how i got there with my NEX-5 (i believe the NEX-3 should be the same).
For existing users, simply start from step 3. As you might be buying another's camera, you might wanna Standby a memory card (as you cant display this info without a card), and insert it into the NEX.
1. Power On
2. Press the shutter button to take a shot (if the memory card is empty, you need at least 1 count to show the total shutter count)
3. Press the "Preview" Pictures button on the top
While in Preview images mode, You are looking for this information on the left top corner of the screen
> 2 Card Symbols 123-1234
the last 4 Digits is the Shutter Count (eg: 123-"1234", Shutter Count is 1234)
Depending on individual preview display settings, if you dont see the above during this stage, Press and toggle the 12 o'clock button on the jog dial labelled "DISP", you should see it when you toggle through.
hope this help, feel free to correct me if anyone has a better process =P
Hi Bros,
Juz bought a nex3 cam, may i know y the SteadyShot function cannot be enable ?
As i will be using mostly in the iAuto mode , so is it always in the Off mode for the SteadyShot function?

Hi i just got the nex-5 last week. Had tried the sweep panorama and found that there is some distortion in the combined image. Have anyone else encountered the same problem?
Thanks for the quick reply, i understand now.........cause the panorama was taken at a street intersection at bugis junction with lots of shoppers. Also, you are right about image distortion for the 16mm pancake lens. Hopefully, Sony will come out with a better wide-angle lens in the future.
