SONY NEX users Thread

Rurouni: yep for me... sales guy opened in my presence

jemtan22: cool! your patience rewarded! hmmm, wonder if any accessories made it out with this batch?

psalm27 : yeah never felt happier to let someone earn my money haha

tango: that was what i thought after i got the call haha, email sony to check

anyway for those who experiencing battery discharge like me. ermm easiest way is not to leave the battery inside the camera.
hmmm gotta wait for Sony to acknowledge this problem and release some firmware update for this. hopefully can be solved by firmware update.

I don't think it's a firmware problem; if that's the case everybody will face the same problem.

It's either a camera or battery problem. You should send it in for checking.

Encountered date and time issues twice in 2 days of shooting.....

On the 1st day, after few shots then i realized that the time is 12 hours behind the actual local time...fine, i adjusted back to the correct time....and took a few more shots, to ensure the time and date is correct.....

on the second day, after my shooting session. Upon reviewing the photos, I am dismay that the time is exactly 12 hours behind again.....:nono:

Not sure any user have the same issue mentioned above? Mine is NEX-5 V1.03..

Hi Stephen, did you set the area you are in as well? Try setting the area to Singapore first, and then set the clock again and see if you still have the same problem.

Already set to Singapore prior to the date and time setting...

Will monitor closely......

thanks anyway...;)

Discovered one interesting 'trick'. If you want to shoot similiar to how you would with a rangefinder or SLR, you can flip the LCD up such that its parallel to the camera's body, slighly angled towards your eye. It gives a really nice handheld position similiar to how you might hold a RF with both eyes opened (one eye looking at the target and the other eye framing and focusing)

PS by myself.....

sony sg srp is 1199 for the lens, not in yet though

HK still has the best price for lens, etc.

Noob here, playing with my macro. The camera will auto detect the lens and put the focus to manual, all the functions that are not able to work will be automatically greyed out.
ie Af/MF select , Autofocus Area / Mode , Smile/Face Detection

Playing with the manual focus was quite difficult as the mf assist hot key was at the bottom
making fine adjustments to the zoom 7.0x and 14.0x hard to reach.
The top hot key would be ideal to minimise shake and composure, flipping up the LCD also helps.
