Sony NEX full frame?

Same motivation as current I guess, body upgrades every 6 - 12 months to keep BnS full of "last generation" NEX systems. ;)

I think by now they have released more versions of NEX bodies than they have E-Mount lenses.

There r still a good portion of users preferring e mount AF lenses on their NEX and ppl who jumped ship to MF lenses becoz the present E mount lens line up is just not up to d mark to fully resolve d capability of the 24MP aps-c sensor.

Actually, aren't the rangefinder/legacy lenses that many NEX users are using now full-frame lenses? Since they were made for 35mm. And most of them are really not that big. Granted, they are full manual lenses, but I suspect those that will pay a premium for a FF NEX are all pretty used to manual lenses on NEX by now.
So if/when a FF NEX comes out, I think the NEX upgraders will not have much issue with the availability of lenses, or lack of. I think it was almost 2 years after I got the first NEX 5 before the first decent prime for e-mount came out, and I was still happy with it.

What you said makes perfect sense. The ff nex would bring joys to legacy lenses owners. However, Sony is unlikely to launch the ff nex without getting the right balance for the ff nex lenses.

While they acknowledge nex is a good platform for manual lenses. They will make more gains to sell this as a system with accessories and lenses line up

I guess that applies only to the tiny fraction of consumers who are vocal in internet forums. ;-)

Having d NEX 7 really pushes one to find a good lens to pair wif it... D closest E Mount lenses wif AF to really trying its best to resolve d sensor is Sigma 19 & 30mm, Zeiss 24/1.8... And the new 10-18mm f/4.0 which should be out this coming Nov...

We have been using cropped NEX for so long, u think we wun b poisoned and get d new FF NEX next year? LOL... D more I m thinking to save the money (more than 1k for the 10-18 E Mount) and buy the FF NEX next year... I can still live with my MF lenses on it... Only worry is the purple fringe issue that plagued the NEX 7 when using wide angle legacy lenses... Hmm... Hope the new FF NEX will not have the same problem...

Something that probably can be resolved by a simple firmware update!

Think some bros here pointed out after research that this problem is not fixable via firmware updates as it is link to some microlens unavailability within NEX 7 as compared to other NEX systems... Correct me if I am wrong...

Sorry, but Sony is gonna focus on getting their cameras to work properly with their lenses above supporting legacy lenses.

Somehow or another, I feel that NEX should continue as a crop. Pushing it to FF, while technically possible, is pushing the limit and compromising on other aspects e.g. size, which defeats the purpose.

On the other hand, if technology allows and FF NEX proved very successful, then what's next? Large format NEX? Lol.

Then again, ppl like us who loves using legacy lenses on NEX system will jump ship dun u think? I guess we do haf a good handful that falls under this category... If all else fail, we still can go to M bodies.. LOL

Size? Look at RX1... Think if they really can push out a FF NEX, they will haf ways to work on a smaller size FF lenses...
