Sony Minolta Flash

Last time I tried a Metz with the proper adaptor (as indicated on their website) on 5D it doesn't work well in TTL mode. Only work in METZ AUTO mode.

Talk to eow on this before and he said his metz ok on his 5D. So really not sure. :dunno:

Since Sony doesn't offer warranty how is Metz flash. Seriously considering getting one. But how is it compared to the Minolta flash.

Just to add on...
My 5600 flash was over heated after some continous flash on a fashion cat walk shooting.
Took it to Sony last month. The board in the camera was malfunctioned and luckily, got it repaired under warranty.

I checked with Sony Malaysia technician on the warranty.
He told me that the warranty card will have some asterick "*" only they cover warranty. "*" can be found on the location of service centers. Hope this info helps.

Is the overheating caused by the battery? What battery did you use? I was shooting with my flash 3600HS and using Sanyo 2100mh for about 1.5hours and after draining the power of the battery, I was shocked to find the battery HOT (not warm hor). Luckily, my flash never kana burnt. :angry:

Using Sony rechargable 2300mh and was not bursting also.
just normal shooting. then battery for HOT as mentioned. my hands could not hold them too.
the heat too hot that it over heated and the main board in the flash KO.
I was shooting fashion show. So models walking till the end and pose. That's when i shoot. so it was not a burst mode.. just focus and shoot.

Heehee, I bought a Vivitar 628(suffix forgot) and mount on the 5D, works pretty bad without diffusing but with a proper diffuser, looks quite good. Bad point is that it cannot do bounce and needs some modifications.
Quite fun to innovate with anyway, not good to go pro with it...
