Really keen to get the A5000. The selling point for me is the sensor size AND the flip-up screen. Is there a good wide pancake lens that will make this a really compact unit ? Then it'll fit my traveling cam criteria.
A few quick notes on the a5000
1 the LCD screen is not that great. Limited viewing angle and the colours don't look great.
2 the AF is slower
what else can you expect from one of the lower-end offerings? :bsmilie:
As if you knew until I posted it. Anyway I wasn't complaining but was reporting my observations.
As if you knew i didn't know about it :bsmilie: and why so sensitive? i never accused you of complaining. in fact, i was agreeing with you :bsmilie:
Yup. That's what I thought. No one seems to be contributing anything on this camera here except me. Hahaha.Bro maybe you really are the only one![]()

Well the camera is an entry-level one. Perhaps the users don't really know about ClubSNAP
When is this available?
should be today.
Haha. Thanks for the goodwill but its a little late. The camera already on sale since 20th feb and I hv already bought it since mid march. Today is a little too late.![]()
Bro you are still like the only guy on CS to own the A5000. Did Sony give you a special prize for this? ;p
$799 isn't exactly entry level price. Street price is prob 725 or so. Anyway it's quite a good camera with good features such as wifi, onboard flash, and 180 deg flip up screen. Just those two things I pointed out which are not so good. I guess there a third - it's pretty hard to change some settings like metering etc quickly without having to dive into the menu system.
