Just now i show her the a6000 video = ) and said i sponsor a bit ,actually i want to play it =p
Wait for the launch day haha

Really keen to get the A5000. The selling point for me is the sensor size AND the flip-up screen. Is there a good wide pancake lens that will make this a really compact unit ? Then it'll fit my traveling cam criteria.

Other than the kit pancake zoom, there are only two other native pancake lenses in the e mount line.
The sel16f2.8 pancake. You can attach the wide angle adapter to make it bring it down to 12mm or a fisheye adapter that offers a wider fov. Its relatively cheap and you should be able to find one for about $100-120 at BnS section. I've owned the 16mm pancake + fisheye adapter previously and really got not much complains about it.
If you dont need it that wide, theres the Sel20f/2.8 pancake too. The 16mm pancake itself takes average photos though, when coupled with the fisheye adapter takes really interesting photos with better iq (strange enough) than just the 16mm itself. Havent tried the sel20 f2.8 so cant comment on that but i feel if u really do need a pancake, u're better off just sticking to the pancake zoom for the time being =) better versatility and has stabilization. The two pancake primes i've stated earlier on does not offer stabilization but u usually wont need it shooting that wide.

A few quick notes on the a5000

1 the LCD screen is not that great. Limited viewing angle and the colours don't look great.

2 the AF is slower

what else can you expect from one of the lower-end offerings? :bsmilie:

Hehe, this will be the ultimate selfie camera with the screen :)

As if you knew until I posted it. Anyway I wasn't complaining but was reporting my observations.

You got the a5000 or tried before? This thread is so quiet and there's so little interest in this camera in clubsnAp that I feel like I'm the only one who has bought one.

Bro maybe you really are the only one :)

Yup. That's what I thought. No one seems to be contributing anything on this camera here except me. Hahaha.

Well the camera is an entry-level one. Perhaps the users don't really know about ClubSNAP

$799 isn't exactly entry level price. Street price is prob 725 or so. Anyway it's quite a good camera with good features such as wifi, onboard flash, and 180 deg flip up screen. Just those two things I pointed out which are not so good. I guess there a third - it's pretty hard to change some settings like metering etc quickly without having to dive into the menu system.

should be today.

Haha. Thanks for the goodwill but its a little late. The camera already on sale since 20th feb and I hv already bought it since mid march. Today is a little too late. :-)

Bro you are still like the only guy on CS to own the A5000. Did Sony give you a special prize for this? ;p

it's considered an Entry-level camera, even if the price isn't as dirt cheap as the Canon EOS-M and Samsung NX APS-C Mirrorless because those companies are trying to clear their stock.
