Sony DSC-RX100

Most of you keeps wondering how much etc. For me, you need it, you buy it. I got mine for months and I brought at $999. But I already put it to good use and got a lot of photos from it. I never bother much about the pricing as I know that I found a gem.

Could you share where you got quoted and is it the model with english menus? Heading to japan in april, would love to get my hands on a RX100 for use on my trip. Thanks!

I'm heading to Japan in April too! Yodobashi Camera, a really big electronics chain in Japan, is listing the local version of the RX100 @ 52,500 JPY. The International set is more expensive @ 71,500 JPY. Of course, you can get a better deal if you look around a little. No idea what's the difference between local and internal. Maybe warranty and manual language related. Don't forget, you might be able to get a tax rebate so the price could be even cheaper.

Edit: You get an additional 5% off if you pay with a VISA credit card. The drawback to all this is that you probably wouldn't get any warranty on your purchase though.

lol, as stated here many times already the difference is the firmware. One is Japanese only and the other is for Asia and includes English (but no Japanese at all).

Are there any firmware update for rx100?

With no connection for remote, the upcoming firmware should includes time lapse functions if any.

anyone knows if anywhere in singapore selling the Richard Franiec grip

Just bought a RX100 recently. Find that the camera is too small after a while, and my fingers ache after extended use.

Thinking of buying this grip. Who is keen to share shipping cost? Please let me know asap, since i am in urgent need (going Europe in Apr).

for me Gariz half case improves the handling and provides some physical protection as well. i personally prefer this to the grip.

Hey guys, saw that technogadgets is selling at like 7xx pricing. Is there some kind of catch involved? How come can sell at this level? Sorry maybe I am thinking too much. Thanks!

I saw on stuff magazine. (march 2013) "Sony time lapse - $12". I went online and try to find, no such things, not even on android. I then went over to sony.com.sg, this article on NEX-5R seem like they going to have time-lapse in it.

NEX-5R Compact System Camera from Sony Offers More Imaging Power in a Sleeker Body : Product Press Releases : Sony Singapore

But will they also make RX-100 having time-lapse too? Let's hope so as RX-100 got no connection for remote, which is quite a disappointment. :thumbsd:

No, the RX100 certainly won't get it.
