Hi all rx100 owners, looking to buy my set from technogadgets, but just wondering if the sets which you have are made in Japan or elsewhere ?

Heard a lot of comments from dpreview that it's made in china now. But the Sony centre at JURONG point told me that theirs made in Japan.

If you mind getting a set Made In China, then just walk to any shops in Funan, check that it is existing stocks Made in Japan, and negotiate your best price for it.

Not sure if Made in China stocks are already in Singapore, but if I were you, I should be on the way to just grab one now before you have no choice.

Checking with previous buyers may not be helpful. Even if they got theirs MIJ, it does not guarantee that latest stocks are MIJ when you receive yours.

Finally got my rx100 on Friday. Thanks for the help here. Enjoying the camera every single moment, even my 6 yr old girl also knows how to use it n enjoying it.

got mine. made in Japan. power packed little rocket. the menu system and operation is much better than the nex cameras.

i need to pay by cheque and the best is free delivery provided. i hv contact 1 famous shop but they only accept Cash and carry. that the problem.

Then contact more than 1 shop and specifically ask them if they accept cheque. But free delivery too? You're asking for a bit much if you want a local set with warranty. Might as well pay full RRP at Sonystyle (call them up and ask if they accept cheque).

It's a heavy camera, I wouldn't want to carry it myself.

Heard that most of the shop no more stock for RX100 even Sony is out of stock , maybe many ppl get for coming CNY holidays !

It is a very nice and small camera to bring along for holidays, outings, getherings, parties and etc.
Small as any compact but nice picture and can have RAW. :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I was quoted RMB7,999 for RX100 in Shanghai. Freebies included are 8GB SDCard and Case (not sure which).
Price w/o freebie RMB7,700.

Step 1: Convert to SGD. Use a website like xe.com (hint: It's about 5:1)
Step 2: Compare the result to the prices posted all over this thread.
Step 3: Make a decision.

It's really not difficult to be an adult and make a choice on your own...
