I'm considering buying a compact camera with a larger sensor, like the RX100 or the M43 models like Oly EPL5, EP3 or the Panny GX1.

As they are all around the same price, would it be more worth to get the M43 larger sensor models, or would the RX100 IQ be able to challenge these? Would it be more worth to get the M43s models (assuming I'm ok with their relative physical sizes)?

You do understand the m4/3 are not compact cameras, right? They are interchangeable lens cameras. If you don't mind the larger size, and are interested in buying more lenses in the future, the m4/3 are pretty good, yup.

I only talked to them last week. If you have a good relationship with shopkeepers you can get a better price.

Bro, then you are talking about a good relationship price, not one that most forumers would be able to get over the counter even after bargaining.

The price that I got was from talking to them the first time. But I spent about 10 minutes chatting them up first and being friendly before asking about the rx100 price.

I don't patronize shops that pull stunts. Besides, They had stacks of RX100 in plain sight too.
