Sony DSC-RX100

:dunno: Just sold my 5N not long ago due to poor EVF design, slow and unreliable AF and poor lens availability.
RX100 looks like the best pocket digital camera ever, and the mention of speedy AF in these reviews is certainly encouraging.

Yeah, the RX100 addresses the poor lens availability issue pretty nicely and the EVF seems to be better as well.

the only drawback I have for this almost near perfect compact cam is the relatavie small aperture, 100mm at f4.9.
I would wait for more user review, guess it would be cheap., sgd800 ??

I was also hoping for a bigger apperture but that could mean increasing the lens size and the body as well. Sony already mad a good job of keeping this cam compact.

How odd. My 5N locks focus very fast, even in a dark concert environment.

We have different expectations ;) It sucks in broad daylight too. The latest firmware does help a bit but, well, I figured it probably not worth the image quality if I missed the shot.

If you haven't got it, read your own post again :bsmilie:
Come on, you own both E-M5 and 5N.

Not bad consider it's actually a physically larger aperture opening compared with XZ-1 in a much smaller package.

Hmm there's no evf on this compact .. Unless its another name for LCD .

And this compact has a fix zoom lens ...... And the nex has lenses that covers 28-100 .

But I agree . This camera is more appealing for people looking for a compact camera . Cheers

I hardly bring dslr out unless i go tour. Local hardly got gd landscape n mostly taken by other. Ha ha! Dslr lenses are heavy but i still like the build. Maybe due to my size, i love big items. Heh heh!

Very tempted to trade up my hx9v for this baby.. boy i miss those RAWs.

I think i will do that to my hx9v when it comes out lol. THis is what the hx9v should have been .

But you will miss the 16X zoom of HX9V

then all you need to buy to regain that feature is this:
