you should be happy with the AF speed with A900, the A700 AF speed is totally different beast even compare to A100.

there should be the least of yr worries....once u handle it a700.....u will not want to go back to yr 7D again

I usually shoot in JPEG... so that would be an issue... as would an 11MB X.Fine JPEG... 21GB of CF cards won't be enough on a long trip...

should not be a problem. if u still shoot landscape and still life the 7D is still the camera to stay with
