Im considering getting the A55. However I've noticed that the pics It produces doesn't have a very shallow depth of field. I like to take lots of portraits... Family photos.. Kid's photos. Currently using panasonic GF1 with the pancake lens 20mm 1.7f and am really loving the shots because of the blurred backgroud. However when it comes to low light it's just horrible.

Any advice on which lens I should go for if I'm settling down for the A55 and would like to get similar shots with what I currently get..?

A55 with a 50mm f1.8 (which is very cheap) will give u even shallower depth of field than ur 20mm f1.7 on a M43 system.

Below are photos of my virgin photoshoot from a month ago with my friend's cat.

Taken using a33 with SAL50F18 and SAL 1855 kit lens.
