I know were only interested in stills, but the strength of A33/A55 is on video as well, in case anyone wanna see, here's a short video I've put together for my recent trip:

nice video bro.

I can't help to notice some jelly like effects in some of the scenes.
Is this because of the wide angle lens you were using?

Any tips to reduce or eliminate noise from lens autofocus? I find it really disturbing.
The Sony mics are really costly.

Thanks bro, the jelly effect is caused by the software stabilizer during movie editing. the footages out of camera is mostly jello-free, except fast panning motion.

I'm afraid there's no way to reduce the AF noise without resorting to external mic or using lenses that use ultrasonic AF motors such as Sony SSM, Sigma HSM or Tamron USD

Thanks, my PP is basically for contrast & sharpness only. The OOC JPEG colors is already nicely saturated.

Anyway, I use landscape mode with +2 saturation, +1 contrast, +2 sharpness.
On top of this is circ polarizer, which adds extra punch to the color.
Metering is segment metering & DRO +3EV. On some strong backlight scenes I use HDR +3EV.

thanks for sharing bro... interesting combo of setting you have there :) we have almost similar setting mine is +2 saturation, 0 contrast, +2 sharpness.

But I rerly use DRO and Auto HDR, since i shoot raw+jpeg... but will try these see how it goes :)

There are times lazy to process RAW so a nice OOC JPEG should be good...

cheers

No pbm, bro. For me I rarely shoot RAW, unless its low light/tricky lightning or more serious work.

The A55 OOC JPEG is good enough for me on most ocassion. :D
