hehe its ok bro last time Ive gotten the 17mm OM mount doesn't work well with A7r I'll stick maybe to my 21mm Super Angulon-R or maybe the 19mm Canon FL (last time I will go for wide) hehe

Its surprised me in that I had 'written it off' in the past as a bad buy on aps-c, since its built like a tank bu a modern 18-55mm kit lens has similar FOV and is lighter.
Corners can be better and flare resistance is not too good, but overall, I think its not too bad.
The only reasons I want to look for something else would be size/weight and flare resistance.
Not much to complain about given the price I paid for it and most slr FF UWA options are not cheap anyway except Samyang 14mm.

The Vivitar version is pretty common on various mounts.
The one I have is an odd ball, 17mm f4, M42 mount, other than lens diameter and focal length, it looks different and I've never found much info on it.

I had the Vivitar 17mm f3.5 OM mount is useless on A7r not sure if it is the adapter that causing the vignetting other than that it is very very soft. Bro Thoth link looks similar to my Vivitar 17mm OM mount which I would suggest not to buy it maybe the one I've gotten is a lemon but the over all IQ is really below average.
I was eyeing for this Soligor UWA but I lost on the bidding I end up getting the Vivitar instead hehehe

will actually need to dispose some L I have as it's over lap with my other lenses... just finding time to dig through my dry cab and list down all the lenses I need to clear.I just want one more UWA and maybe 1 or 2 native Sony FE lenses then I should be happy (for a while) hehehe

Nah you don't need these lenses you have them before and sold them up hehehe... I still waiting for your review and sample pix of your 55mm f1.8...

I'm sure the Samyang 14mm is a 'safe' bet based on the samples I've seen on the web at large sizes.
The CV12/5.6 looks good actually.
No smearing at the corners, only color cast.
So with work, its probably the smallest and widest wide angle ends 'usable' on A7 (don't know about the A7r)
My problem forking $$ for it right now, is that I'm paying $1K+ for something that is not 'hassle free' and I can imagine the pain having to fix the corners for ever image I shoot on a tour.
High "Buy It Now" prices on ebay has always been the case with many dealers.
I think its still not too bad for the good legacy lenses as they always cost quite a bit and the good modern lenses keep the the prices of the legacy ones in check (except for Leica since the new stuff also climbs in price)
I do think lenses will get more expensive when the A7 hits a slightly lower price point.
Then there will be a lot of new entrants who will try to grab at anything.

Very small and portable lens (suits A7 well), that I like very much even on aps-c.
Not likely to happen if Sony have already got at least a small handful of prime lenses and normal zoom out during the launch of A7/R

Which they did not... LOL... Pathetic that HK, Japan and Korea and most part of the western civilization are already playing with them for the past 1 month... eg FE 55...
Singapore is a small market... Photography and cameras are a big thing in places like HK.
I remembered in Singapore, I hardly see anyone walking around brandishing a Leica.
But here I see kids, yes kids that are still in their teens playing with their Leica M9s, not once but often enough to make me feel poor...
