Yes. Quite a lot more expensive. But it should be a sharp lens, probably not as sharp as the 55mm though.

Key selling point is similar to the Canon 24-70 f4 with IS. Fixed F4 and versatile for travelling.

This makes the 55mm a good deal.

MD 24mm/f2.8

Quite sharp, no vignetting

AFAIK, most slr 24mm are pretty decent on the A7. (some a bit better but generally ~ok)
Many are not too big too for f2.8 and f4 versions.
So its certainly a good WA option for the A7 without paying much.

Agree. Not exactly cheap but for the price, MD 24mm f2.8 has very little distortion and sharp across the frame. It has a floating element which was supposedly a very advanced design at that time. Apparently Minolta shared optical design with Leitz. Excellent build quality..almost 40 yr old and still working perfectly.
