Sony A7/(r) image sharing thread

RF lenses still shows some light magenta cast over A7 worst in A7r that's why with A7/x I think the best wide lenses are non-RF lens but the down side is the lens size :-( .. I have 21mm F4 Leica-R no issued with the cast the main issue I have is the vignetting...

you should really give the SEL10-18 a serious look then. no color casts on the a7/r and almost as wide as the CV12mm. Only downside is more distortion near the edges, but is correctable quite easily in adobe CS/LR. saw my samples one/two pages before? no distortion correction done on those images (didn't really need any) apart from the MBS shot.

usable from 12-16mm with no modification needed. If you remove the 3 screws on the back and remove the rear lens baffle, no vignetting even from 16-18mm. A very useful lens on full frame from 12-18mm.

mine I have two M mount both saw 3.4ft (1m) even my LTM lenses shows the same bro.. unless you use the adaptor that cold lower the MFD to 0.7m... yeah non-RF is awesome minus the weight factor

Okay, though some M-mount lenses can focus down to 70cm natively, at least some newer ones. I think 70cm is the hard limit for Leica's rangefinder system in order to work. Unfortunately there are also real macro lenses for the system. I still don't agree manual focus SLR lenses are heavier. I have a Canon newFT 24mm f/1.4 L and comparable RF lenses aren't any lighter. When looking at all the great manual focus SLR lenses and the IQ issues with RF lenses I don't see the point starting with RF lenses.

there are definitely many great legacy MF SLR lenses around, the only problem of using them with the A7 is the size of the adaptor is at least 3-4cm thickness vs a RF to nex adaptor which is about 1cm thick. The adaptor adds to the size of the SLR lenses and the a7/r quickly loses it's size advantage vs the 6D or D610

yeah I forget one more factor is the size you're correct I have this LTM mount lens which is almost as heavy as my non RF lens hehe...

yeah to me I'm ok with SLR lens if I can afford to have RF lens and would work well with my gears why not ... but majority of my legacy lenses are non-rf hehehe

was able to hold off all "poisons" since getting the nex-5 when it was launched till now....

tested the a7r at wisma and quite liked the feel but decided to go with the a7

yeah my rf lenses are old school so most of them have long MDF..
