Yes, it is correct. But too me, it is not too obvious in many scenes. You'll get vignetting and a bit of magenta cast at the sides which is correctable in PP. I find it very useable in A7. Even on A7S, I do see the magenta cast too.

A7 + CV12. See the left of this pic at the white road marker for the obvious magenta cast.
you use the A7 right? Any issues with this lens? I'd thought that only the A7s works well with it.
You can, as I'm using now, just install Sony Lens compensation App on A7 and adjust the slight cast and vignetting directly within the app. They will apply the compensation directly to the RAW file and you can just simply convert with any RAW converter without any other correction. Do watch out for the M to E adaptor and also the filter (even clear type like the latest series from Marumi which badly cause the color casting), the 12/5.6 is very sensitive to both of them on Sony A7 series.
Regarding to the corner performance, different RAW converter will use different demosaicing algorithm. Some demosaicing algorithm optimized for best resolution ans sharpness might make the corner performance of VC 12/5.6 become quite bad on A7. However, some demosaicing algorithm might not be the best in resolution and sharpness but help improve a lot corner performance of VC 12/5.6 on A7 (Sony RAW converter is one of them but use only 1 demosaicing algorithm). I use RAW Therapee as it allows you to select different demosaicing algorithm for different scenarios you need and more important, it is free
