I'm eyeing the FE1635 for zoom convenience, has anyone stacked ND filters on the lens before? I'm thinking of using 0.9 and 1.8 Haida slim screw-on ones but I wonder if that will vignette at 16mm. (or if the colour cast turns uncorrectable)

Nice shot! For the filters, try them out at the Photosphere Demos when you get the lens. Should work.

another nice lens is the MS optical 50mm f1.1. very small and light for a 50mm f1.1. not as sharp as the mitakon or as creamy in bokeh, but interesting sonnar rendering, and also sharp in the centre where the focus is.

Got to try this out...Just got to find time to look for you!

Yeah, the A7R really made things easier for me as I can now shoot scenes which were previously a chore with the 5DMK3.

Should be wide open. There are markings for full stops like f0.95 (f1), f1.4, f2 etc. The aperture is click-less so you can adjust ur own half stops.

Edit: The group shot might be f1.4 or f2

wa this is one of my first dream manual 50mm fast lens for the A7

I didn't realise it until I bought and experience myself. Hehe it's truly a dream lens.. very sharp and contrasty even at MFD; although at almost-infinity focus the contrast drop a bit at wide open but stop down @f1.4/1.8 it regains the characters.
Joy to use not too bulky and heavy (wish the adapter can be smaller so it would be perfect)
