Was thinking of this L bracket for the camera to improve grip too. What do u think? Is it worth the effort? Haha.

definitely worth the effort, helps the grip more than using a leather case.

Also bumped into hjbyeo at the Merlion Park! :)

Wah ... so NICE!!! Buay tahan, so nice! I could only stay awhile, as I need to pick wife up... Haiz. When I rush thru shots, shots become crappy.

I got a little bit of luck later that day when heading for dinner.

I love the setup. Sooooooo small.

Just to add on - The L-Bracket I also buy, at only 12 USD these days!!! I think cos' they are predicting the body changed (A7 II), and they wanna get rid of stocks quick.

Haha, thanks!

This sunset shot you took, I saw the sky also, really wow.

Yeah, shots that are rushed through, usually cannot deliver the results.

And yes, A7 series really damn small but your tripod so big! :bsmilie:

The L-plate I think china clone should suffice cause' RRS really expensive!

I got mine for slightly under USD20, so far so good.

Anyway after you left and I took your place, I got this:

A7 | Ricoh XR Rikenon 55/1.2

the mitakon is quite a good lens on the a7 series

sharp and easy to focus, very well made. below shots all at 0.95. hehe bokeh ball in the first pic looks abit ugly cuz my cabinet window reflecting the xmas lights are quite dirty!

Ah... Surprised that its easy to nail focus since dof is extremely shallow. Eyeing on your 85 too...

it's easy to focus because the lens itself is sharp, and the shallow DOF means you can tell quite easily which area is in focus, even without using the focus magnification.

another nice lens is the MS optical 50mm f1.1. very small and light for a 50mm f1.1. not as sharp as the mitakon or as creamy in bokeh, but interesting sonnar rendering, and also sharp in the centre where the focus is.

Hi seniors,

I'm eyeing the FE1635 for zoom convenience, has anyone stacked ND filters on the lens before? I'm thinking of using 0.9 and 1.8 Haida slim screw-on ones but I wonder if that will vignette at 16mm. (or if the colour cast turns uncorrectable)

Anyone uses mitakon 0.95? Wonder how's the performance and handling.

Besides what bro ricleo said, I do find that the colour it renders is a bit to the magenta side sometimes. Also, the "bokeh balls" wide open is the cat's eye type and can be a bit distracting at times. I prefer to stop down to f1.4 for the rounder ones if the background is busy.

Wide open at MFD 0.5m (hard to nail the focus):

Stopping down to f1.4 at around half-body portrait distance. It's really sharp at portrait distances:
