Sony A7 II

Saw this on SAR post:

"A7m2 has not “4D focus” as the a6000 because the number of AF points doesn’t meet the required standard"

Looks like my hope for A7S MKII with A6000 focusing is gone. Think A9 is the only FF coming out with it.

OSS+IBIS combines the best of in-lens and in-camera image stabilisation. <img src="http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=5586"/> https://photographylife.com/lens-stabilization-vs-in-camera-stabilization

It will be interesting to know what Sony really means from this write up... And how Sony future lenses gonna be? No more OOS? And Will they Refresh all current FE mount lenses with OOS to non OOS?

OOS means "Out Of Stock"

but of course i highly doubt they will stop making lenses with OSS. because not all sony E-mount cameras have this sensor-shift technology at the moment

Is IBIS that important? How does it compare with a7s that can set a faster shutter speed to compensate for camera shake by pushing ISO to 25,600 & noise is still as good compared to a7 at ISO 6400.

How to quantify the 4.5 stops gain in a7II? How it compares to a7s low light capability?

I like to shoot without flash & almost bought a7s to replace my a7 but now in a lost. If a7II can shoot almost as well as a7s in low light plus faster AF, then I should get a7II given that I don't shoot much video which is a7s strength.

Thanks in advance for your advice.....or maybe should wait & see a9 price.

If i have not purchase anything yet i would wait until at least a7ii is out since its soon.. A9 no real news at the moment.

A7ii has the benefit of 24mp as well compared to the 12mp.

I think next year is going to be a big year for Sony again because of their new sensor developments. After A7II there should be an upgrade to the alpha's again.

Not surprised by this. They need to give people a reason to buy the new pro FF e-mount camera. And then after that a7s II with a6000 AF system. There is no end!

I am quite excited by the a7 II's features but not its pricing..unfortunately.

Interesting developments w Sony.

Nikon will fight back w noise control. Maybe they will have a new camera that shoot at ISO 6400 and it looks like ISO 50, gaining 8-12 stops. If they can do so, then they can achieve stabilization without the mechanical movement that is prone to wear and tear.

Regardless, it's the consumer who wins and the pockets of the big companies. Haha.

Is it me or does the A7II look like the Olympus EM1 from the top? Especially the grip area :P

Yip. Now I am sticking w my a7.

a9 is almost a certainty if we judged by the rumours & the hints given by Sony spokemen that something interesting is coming out in Q1 2015.

Its just the pricing & how big is a9 that may hold me back from buying.

How does this in theory affect the performance of wider focal length m mount lenses, especially on the edge of the image?

i wonder if the battery grip has changed?

shipping in the USA on 9 Dec ... in time for Xmas. hope Sony SG do more to get them in at the same time!

Wondering how the image stabilization will work in video mode. Is it as good as their camcorders?

We need A9s with IBIS.
