Hi all A7II users, wanna ask if you experience this and if its normal.

I'm using a Sony U3 95mb/s SD Card.
I notice that the write speed is kind of slow.

I experience delays between shots when shooting multiframe NR or high ISO (6400 most of the time)

I see the write indicator blinking and i cannot take another shot till it has stop blinking. I have turned off auto preview after shot but its the same.

Is thia normal? Thanks.

Edit: With FE 24-70 lens

after seeing the comparison hehe... my thoughts are to stick canon or fuji for portraits :p

but back to topic, the nx1 tones look a little overly red and the A7II a little too cyan not sure if it was something with the custom white balance and exposures like what kei mentioned.

the a7s seems to fare better, but i usually dont use custom WB hehe... auto/daylight/florescent depending on the situation.

because you are using multiframe nr the camera needs time to process the multiframes?

RAW or JPEG for high iso?

Jpeg. Multiframe NR not available in RAW mode

I was shooting fireworks for the year end celebration and i notice this "slow" write issue. This time without multiframe NR.

Settings as follows:
Manual Focus
F8
1" or 0.5" shutter speeds
ISO200

After the 1st shot is taken, there is a significant "write to sd card lag" before the next one shot can be taken.

It is not write to sd card lag. It's long exposure NR. I have explained this several pages before.

yes, it is the long exposure NR hehe... switch it off for a faster reacting camera at expense of slightly more noise.

turns out my A7II has a problem.. screen blacks out (no signal) when it is articulated..disappointed

hope i can do a 1 to 1 exchange

Good morning to all Bros,

Nice knowing you guys.
I just got my a7ii on 1 Jan 14.
I'm totally new to Sony camera except that I have owned a a500 many years back.
I'm currently using a 5dm3 for almost 3 years.

On 2 Jan 14 while on the way walking to school with my 3 children, I flipped up the articulated screen to take video of them.
I placed the camera about 10cm close to my abdominal area to take the video. I have to do this as we were walking and I couldn't place the camera near to my face fearing I would knock onto other people.
The phenomenon i noticed was the screen black out and revived on and off.
Could this be due to the light sensor at the viewfinder being blocked as it was very near to my abdominal?
Can anyone explain this?
I will try to do the same thing again today to see if it occurs again.
I will update you guys once I got the results.
Regards and have a nice weekend!

The year is 2015.
Sorry typo error, still keeps typing 2014.
I have not yet explore the mmi as was busy with the children's school reopening yesterday.
Therefore I'm considered very lost as to how to use this fantastic mirrorless full framed machine.
I have also acquired the metabones EF-E mount adapter ring to fully utilize my canon lenses.
However I noticed that there was no continuous AF in video mode.
Can any bro advice me on this?
PS: I have never bought or used any adapter before for inter brand combination.
Hope you guys can advice me.
Really appreciate your advice.
Again, enjoy your weekend!
