Hi bro, seems the W battery is to reduce the size of the grip, the M battery would serve larger cam bodies... So if a77 does come out using the M battery, the batt life would be much longer.

I guess so but I am quite scare at the speed Sony cut old products and issue new pdts lol . Scare to be early,adaopters haha

Not sure if this helps but when I fire off my pop up flash it will always throw a pre flash follow by the main flash/ shutter

Is that what you are experiencing ?

I checked with a friend who is using A550. I think it is the same case for his. Guess we just have to live with it. There was no such problem on my previous 400D.

hmm it's a bit odd for ttl pre-flash to act this way hmmmm. I dont have A33/A5XX Sony so I cant really comment much

The double flash is due to the anti red eye feature, as the first flash fired will reduce the red eye occurance.

Go into ur menu and disable this.

The other reason why the camera fires off a double flash is due to low light. As the a550 does not have a dedicated af assist lamp, the double flash is used.

If its not because the above 2 reasons, maybe u might wanna bring it down to sony to take a look.

this is similar with Oly w/o lamp assist it will do preflash or strobe to help the lens to focus... but all this will happen during half shutter press not after the full shutter press...unless the user never pre-focus at all

Also try disabling the C-AF mode make it S-AF see if the same issue occurs.

Finally tried the a33 hands on at Sony style. The sales man keep watching by the side uneasy lol.

So didn't have much contact but some question at top of the head. The evf image is out put from main sensors hence i presume it is inevitable for a shutter lag. Must say the lag is better than evf of nx10 but I m till not very used to it yet so currently still prefer ovf but that's beside the point.

Is there an option to turn off auto review in evf after every shot ? Pardon me if this is repeated as I must say I do recall somewhere along the thread someone mentioned on this heh.

so the question is 3rd party battery needs other charger? does it show charge display battery life in the camera? Pls advice. Thanks..
