I happened to attend a lingerie shoot today. The reason I'm posting this is because I was utterly disgusted with someone today. A fellow shooter was most enthusiastic & fire off his shots+flash everywhere & anytime. While the models are walking, going to change, posing, adjusting their garments etc.

Otherwise, he was simply all over the whole room, virtually "stepped all over us", gave us no time & space to shoot. There are at least 5 others around & he has no respect for anyone. Everyone else except him were uncomfortable & annoyed. To make things worse, shots were aimed @ genitalia. Yes, obscene & most rude IMHO. He would ask for poses like opening legs..... u know who you are. :thumbsd:

I mean look, i am a male. I like women & pretty things. I appreciate human body, male & female just like I appreciate fine cars, watches, houses, furniture etc. Appreciation & obsession is another thing but acting like a "hungry wolf" is a "beastly" behaviour. :nono:

In fact, I was so disgusted that halfway through, I asked for the model's permission to call off the shoot. She was extremely uncomfortable & what's the point of photography @ other's pain?

I'm not trying to score anything here but I'm sure this will not end here & banning or screening shooters will only work to a certain extend.

I appeal to all organisers & models to have the right to HALT a shoot when the situation calls for it then have a word with that photographer. Expel & refund him if necessary. If the orgainser is/are gals, please seek help with guys that are present, I'm sure some will help/support.

I hope the gals are doing fine, they need to make a living like us but not to the extend of getting exploited & humiliated. It is shameful that some of us don't treat others with respect.
all complaints and no names?

Nine,

I know which shoot you are talking about and I applaud you for standing up and voicing this out. I will seriously ask you to name the shooter in this case. The reason I am asking for you to do this is to protect the community as such and if the person is known, the rest of the organisers can screen out.

What infuriates me is that these girls are subject to the whims and fantasies of such lewd and vulgar people and it makes me sick. As I as reading your post, I was utterly disgusted at the way the photog was aiming at the nether regions and by asking for "opening of legs" is pushing it to the point of outright pornographic. I am not an evangelistic and morally upright person, but what I feel strongly against is that these girls are subjected to the humiliation of such actions carried out by these photographers who will stop at nothing to capture these girls in a compromising situation.

As photographers, we have a responisbility to protect the models we work with and try out best to do so. More so for organisers who organise such shoots being lingerie and the like.

I applaud you for asking the model if she wanted to stop the shoot as she was feeling uncomfortable.

I also second your appeal. At this point I also appeal to all organisers to protect your models working for you and with you during the shoot. If the shoot goes down bad, please pull the plug. I am very sure all the rest of the photographers will understand. At this point, I will also like to appeal to photographers to protect the models that you are working with, who knows that you might be working with the same person going down the road.

Expose the wolf!!!

Help make this community a better place.

Please name offenders if there are witnesses and / or proof.

sexpose the se(x) lang!

I think this is more than about exposing the wolf. The more critical issues here are:

1) we need to protect the community from such people going forward.
2) As organisers, they have a responsibility to the model and photographers. More importantly to the model who is working with them and for them at the time of the shoot.
3) What Nine did was commendable. Taking the model's feelings into consideration. As photographers we need to protect the model.

This I feel is more important than anything else.

actually...re-read the entire thing again...look at the photoshoots...

Yes, the organiser has a responsibility and I am not trying to lynch the organiser for not doing their job, for the record. The organiser holds greater responsibility where such shoots are concerned. BUT that said, that does not absolve us photographers from the same responsiblity as well even in a group shoot.

well if you know which shoot it is, just say it already.

if that is, then its quite a crying shame isnt it. that a female shoot organiser couldnt protect the interests of her female models..

let not jump to conclusion first....

best to get confirmation even thot her shoot seem to be the one.

just wonder y she nvr call the plug..:dunno:

ok good.

you've produced a lead, now what's left is for TS to decide to confirm or choose to remain silent about names.

if TS choose not to produce names, i would suggest the thread be kept to discussions about the ethics of the photoshoot and not go on a witch hunt.
