I was more then a little surprised when I saw this. Now I'm more than a little offended. Does this kinda thing happen often?

The thread: http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=644698

My original thread: http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=582513

He even went and got an image from my Flickr acct, at:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/38641241@N05/3969815030/in/set-72157622364572305/

I know this isn't quite as 'serious' as the joker who misused other wedding photographers images in his own portfolio a while ago, but still... I mean, he even took the time time erase my copyright notices. Now I realise why some use those BIG, frankly ugly copyright notices that cover half their images!

I'm gonna email him, the mods and perhaps Flickr (I think they take a dim view of this kind of thing). Anyone have any other suggestions, think I'm overreacting, or ... well, I'm too pissed right now to think of anything else.

Appreciate your suggestions and feedback

oh :o that is bad
even have time to di away the copyright

this is too much....

Guys, it could be a copied shot since the items are readily available.
Go easy on this issue lah.

if you tilt your screen, you can see the part that is supposed to be watermarked, there is some smudge or some in-correct colours

just a photo of a lens not as if he misused your original life/travel/street photos. plenty of lens photo since he could be the one who bought the lens so out of convenience use same photo you use when you sell it to him? go easy on him ... forgive and forget

For this purpose, and if it is the same lens, i don't feel like it's a misuse of images.

It's ok, it's been a while after the initial surprise, and I've calmed down.

I did some checking, and Ortega is right, he is the person who bought the lens from me. However, I never sent him any shots without the © notice, only links to the Flickr pix.

It's not a big deal - I am under no illusions about the value of the photos, just images I took to help sell the lens. If he had asked, I would have said go ahead and use them, leaving the © notice intact. Pardon me if I choose not to leave my photos in the public domain.

I do think it was rude (at least) to use them without asking, and more than bad form to remove the © notice. Hey, if you could spend the time to do that, why not take your own photos? Or just the Flickr link? It's not something I would do, but perhaps that's only me.

I have sent him a polite (really) email stating that. I'm not expecting anything back, but perhaps it will let him know that not everyone approves of this sort of thing.
