I really do not understand why you people have to always bring GOD into the problem. God was never the problem and never will be the solution. People are! God(s) are just very convenient excuses that we use for our own selfish ends and gains.

That's because you have never experienced God & how He can make a world of difference in your life. I have experienced Jesus & I know He is the anchor to my soul. He directs me where i should go & provide security from hopelessness when i remain obedient to his instructions.
When you take a step back & look at things from a macro perspective, you will know that mankind cannot survive without the presence of God. Money, power & fame can solves LOTS of your problem, but only God is BIG enough to truly fulfill you.
But but... but.....I don't have a chance to vote at all.
My area is a walkover GRC.
No one will DARE to compete with him during GE.
Afterall, he ain't small fly leh.

Its good that you have found a religion that has given you such peace of mind and confidence to face life's challenges. While I understand you wish to share this fulfilment with us please understand that there may be some people who already have their own beliefs and may not see eye to eye. I do not think its appropriate of you to say that if someone believes in your god that he can fulfil him too as they might not want to accept your religion's teachings.

It was at Block 47 Durham Road, 15min walk from Mustafa.
I was heading to the hawker centre to have my breakfast/lunch when i passed by small pockets of people looking at the same direction. There, a middle-aged chinese man lay flat, his chest facing the floor. Blood was coming out from his face.
An old Malay man urged me to call the police because he was complaining people "just" watch and never called the police. So i called the police. I guess he didn't have a mobile phone.
I had my D80 with me, but just find it too unbearable to take the picture of a dead man who i think must have a very difficult life that he resorted to such measure to end his misery. By the way, the Block 47 is one of those flat where itz very compact one, i think govt rent out very cheaply or free to those who are in dire cases.
I think people really need Jesus to bring them into a life of hope.
i guess it is better to respect the dead and not to take photos. Unless u are doing your job as a policeman or a newspaper reporter... otherwise just keep a distance to respect. :sweat:

Yes, I think you are right about Red Cross although I imagine that they will help anybody in need.
Never the less, here or possibly there are other organizations such as "St Vincent De Paul":dunno:
Often it is sad to realise that some people that are at a loss,
don't realise that there are people out there for them and dedicate their life to them.

just that it's not publicised widely enough. mental health problems are often equated to insanity amongst many Singaporeans, especially the middle-age and elderly group. so people do not see the 'need' to seek help.

So, I presume, Raymond, I have 2 questions for you.
I am very curious about religious people like you. Are you are a creationist or an evolutionist? Do you believe in the science of evolution, ie we evolve from a singel cell organism --> apes --> homo sapiens? Or did you just pop out of the mud?
I am glad that you feel fulfilled. So can I ask, when you pray, do you, first, pray for yourself and then, for the people around you? Or do you pray, for the people around you, then yourself? Do you pray, say for all people then, regardless of race, religion or creed? You pray for them, so that they will believe in what you believe, or do you pray for their goodness and well being?
You pray, because you genuinely feel for it (and for the others) or because you need to? Do you pray because you wanted to go to heaven? Isn't that for your own selfish reason, ie because you do not want to go to hell? So at the end of the day, isn't it all about your gains and ends?

I wish the day will come soon when every single one of the eligible voters will have a chance to decide and vote our leaders. It will be a true day for democracy of our nation, maybe it is then, to really celebrate our independence.
