The artifact happens when a JPG image is save repeatedly.

Everytime you save a JPG, you lose more quality, and eventually the whole picture is full of artifact no matter at what compression you use. :o

That is the reason why I shoot RAW all the time.

ok, bear with my stupidity... but why does such things happen?

At the corner, where your name is, there are some pixelation. One of the reason they are there is because your photo is highly compressed when you uploaded it for comment.

Heavily artifacted. Composition is very so-so.

Have you considered changing your digital workflow?

First image I can see TWO big dust spots.

Dust spots and making trips to service centre to eradicate them .... that why I am holding back and not buying the D70 DSLR. :(

Nothing to worry about dust, really.

Hi Guys

Have you tried the software NeatImage ?

It does help in such situation. Its free as well but I have to say it does take a long time to process.

The images are not plagued by noise, it's plagued by artifacts.

Humm .. thats true ... :embrass:

 Er...I tot the photo was very good liao wor.....really my expectation is damn low sial :sweatsm:

Actually if you look carefully, the colors are very warm also :), there's a slight orange cast.

thanks for all the advice from the great ones in helping me to improve more and more each day.... :bsmilie:

if you shoot everyday, you will learn something new everyday. :) If you shoot once a month, you will learn something new every month, but when you shoot again next month, whatever you've learnt last month 70% forget liao :(

Every time some1 spotted a mistake for you, you learn from it! Until one day you will be telling others what's the problems in their picture from what you've learnt in your past mistake then you're there liao :bsmilie:

No leh, I don't shoot one, I only know how to talk and comment nia, :bsmilie: you ask me to shoot, I show you sh!t. Heehee.

No offence to anyone...but just thinking out loud...
Why's everyone talking abt dust spots and what not when it's the composition and visual impact of the picture that matters more???

Does anyone not have anything to offer where that is concern?

Kiv, read my first post in this thread, 1st line, 2nd sentence :)

Ya, I'm aware there are some comments on composition now and then, but I felt the emphasis is not there.

I thought so too ... and I ever thought of using a vacuum cleaner to suck out the dust but afraid of sucking out all the mechanisms in the D70 in the process. No more dust and no more D70!!

i did try to use blower to blow my CCD gentlely and the dust gone... :)

NS, let's shoot shoot shoot tomorrow.... :)
