Paiseh, Kapalai House Reef .. keke
Fellow divers saw one when I was there 3 years back (while I was shooting mandarin fish )
Mmm..... Mandarin Fish or Blue-Ring..... Mmmm....
I would choice Blue-Ring![]()
We saw one blue-ring at mabul last august we went sipadan. But be careful, it has enough venom to kill probably all the divers on your boat!

True true, though chances slimmer then being sole first prize winner in toto
Hahaha.... a friend of mine didn't know what a Blue-Ring was... and tried to 'probed' it with a steel pointer.... all while I was trying to take a few very close shot !! My 1st thought was that if the Blue-Ring bites... the 1st target would be me  Luckily I grab his hand before the pointer touches the Blue-Ring.... I have to give him the 'DEATH' sign by pulling my finger across my throat. :bsmilie:
But honestly.... Blue-Ring are very safe to be around with, as long as NOT handled or blocked when its moving.
Yikes, good reaction! Glad you can laugh about it.
this is why we shouldnt dive with pointers...seriously. if everyone had no pointers, they would be a lot more reluctant to touch something with their fingers.
Aiyo, but i find pointers very useful sometimes .... :embrass:
for moving stuff, poking stuff, and avoiding contact with the reef usuallyWhat do you find useful with it?

yup but it damages the coral when you do that. i've seen divers try adn push themself off and made a huge piece of staghorn fall off.Regarding pointer.... I find them most useful.... not to poke things with, but using it to avoid touching any corals or reef. Find a stoney spot, use the pointer on it, and push myself away. Also good for archoring myself to loose sandy dive site during fast current.... Lembeh would be a good example. :bsmilie:
But of course.... to use or not to use.... is up to you.

if no pointers were allowed and they had to use their fingers, they would have a lot more incentive to improve their buoyancy after getting their fingers cut by broken coral and stung by hydroids
i just call it a walking stick
