Those two differences in specifications are good to have - that is, for me - if there's a cheap, good conditioned a900 appearing in the market with a pricing that's close to a brand new a850 - if not, I'd buy the a850 for my studio work.
So essentially, for a difference of $1.1k (or thereabouts, according to the prices I saw a few days back), you get 2% more viewfinder coverage, 2 fps faster rate.

Think the pcb should be the same... just some components remove here or there.
The same goes for the 2xx/3xx, 5xx series... 8xx/9xx should share the same pcb, just some components there, some not there...
This is similar to how home theater systems are built en-masse - some has XM radio, some has RDS... etc etc, sony is applying that to their cameras as well - a very smart move to flood the market with a lot of models currently - there are 7 models on market, but they only need 4 main chassis.
Of course if it is cheap, who won't buy? Then I wouldn't even need to start this thread. As it is right now, there is a price difference of more than SGD1k.
