Started digital in 2002 and now looking for a fully manual 35mm camera to do film again.
So long away from this forum, so who still shoots Film?

Anyway since my last posting have bought a Pentax Optio Z10 PnS to try digital.Perhaps
it's a PnS so the results are not as good as a DSLR but anyway like to share some.

Started with film years back (2001-2002) but just recently switched to digital (few days ago bought a 450D)
Sold off my EOS 30 and lenses off 2 years ago, as I haven't had time to shoot with my busy schedule in SMU.
Coincidently, I was doing some minor spring cleaning and found my slide positives and black and white prints in my cupboard. Reminds me of the good times of think first, shoot later. I have yet to be able to reproduce Velvia and Elite/Ektachrome colours digitally. Sigh :-( I miss the richness of traditional bnw and slides.

I still shoot black-and-white occasionally, develop the film myself. Will be learning to process prints. Personally, I like to shoot B&W for certain subjects because it can help bring out the mood.

I do still shoot film, as i have, like over 30+ film cameras? used film cameras when i was in pri sch till year 2007.. And change to oly dslr system and now to canon dslr system..
Basically, shooting film is quite cool and it still is nowadays as it gives you the effect/special feeling dslr doesnt give you, planning ur shots (coz film exp. that time) and there's the developing..
I usually pass it to the lab to process the photos, and it will always make u feel excited.. waiting for the photos patiently for a few days like a its everything in the world..

Most of mine are taken with my vintage cam.....fun!!! I scan them with my Canon 8800F...

Print film still have that "retro feel" as compared to digital.
Using digital to PP still will not have that effect you get from print film..
Colour digitally converted B&W still can beat traditional B&W film.
The colour noise vs. film grain for B&W, it's still film grain which is nicer!
Slide film colours are fantastic!
These are reasons for me to go back to film..
Furthermore when films are still not that expensive and still in production, shoot it. Don't wait till it stop production like polariod.
Also don't wait till those processing machine spoils then shoot. By that time even you have film but nobody can develop.. (C-41 & E-6 processing)

I've come a long way. I shoot large format, medium format n slr in the 80s to 90s, then switched to digital n medium format film, then to fully full frame digital n now gone back to 99% film n finally picked up rangefinders which I did not touch in the 80s-90s. I think I'm crazy. I am shooting my jobs n all serious work on film now, mostly 35mm n 120mm, and I love it do much! I have since sold all my full frame dslrs n just keep a small micro four thirds rangefinder for not-so-serious digital snapshots n experimentation. To all film users, please promote film, shoot more film so that manufacturers will not give up on us! Let there be a revival! Film rocks!

check out national geographic photographers and outdoor photographers magazine, most of them shoot film. Are we being duped into digital? Compare fuji velvia 50 with digital print, digital prints will fall flat! shoot fuji velvia 50, scan into the highest resolution with maximum jpeg file size and BANG, you got 25megapixel equivalent.

I really miss my film days...... good print and rarely got bad shots.... now with digital, anyhow shoot, prob got 10% hit rates.... but then again, lost touch of film already... how one go about going back?? Getting film no prob, its the Camera and the scanner.... and of course what's the damage like.... :sweat::dunno:
