I'm not sure if it's the first rise in 18 years. But I do remember in 1990, when I was in university, Singtel changed its pricing model from a fixed monthly fee to usage-based charges. I wrote letters to the press then, complaining this would kill our bulletin-board usage. We were using 4800bps dialup modems then.

all my landlines call if converted to handphone call won't add up to $110/year. The increase in the subscription fee just make it more infavourable of keeping the landline. But I didn't know that we need the landline for Singtel broadband. May be should really consider MIO. :think:

Combining landline, internet broadband service, mobile phone, or even TV series subscription to get a cheaper subscription? Similar to what Starhub offer.

Not that it's expensive... but with the prevalence of IP and mobile communications... is the land line still as useful?

Only times I use my land line are when I need to call those damn services which puts you through the automated voice services...

For me, MIO costs more than when I add up the three tog.

I also going to term it when my Singnet plan expires. Maybe lugi a bit, get MOL a mth b4 SN expires. Then I can use the MOL digital voice as my current hardly got calls (expect those from banks :angry: ) Change ISP also gd, maybe got free laptop again, haha! :bsmilie:

They seem like chasing customer away. Unless ur hse is not under ur control, else term it n get MOL. I been paying $100 per mth for SNBB n land line(3 mths, extra $ gone for land line). Land line hardly use, becos if SNBB, no choice only. We now mostly eating grass, don't makes us start to eat soil liao. :angry::sticktong
