Anyone experience this? I can't seem to be able to contact my friends who are using the 3G network.

Some people complained that the 3G network is down.

Make sure your 3G handset is on auto-switch mode.

Yup. 3G network is down ;(

same here. was blaming my Dopod 838 Pro, called to SIS, and they said that's because Singtel's 3G is down :thumbsd:

they say need to switch to the gsm network.

Hmm.. I don't see how it can be done on 838 Pro...anybody has the same phone and knows how to switch it to GSM only mode?

Yah... Confirmed DOWN!!! I called singtel and gave them a good scolding..
what the fish they selling... SINGTEL eh... can have such thing happening one..
omg......

give them a break. everything is prone to spoil some time. so what if it's singtel? even SMRT trains break down sometimes. so does your $5000 camera

Yea, I couldn't call my girlfriend on her E61 but surprisingly, she could call me and receive my smses.

Met her up and switch it to GSM only. Switched back to Dual mode later on.

One suggestion, if the 3G network is faulty, could Singtel switch (UMTS) it off, that would force handphone to automactically switch to GSM.

It's frustrating that my gf could not receive any incoming calls. What about those who are in their jobs/businesses?

Or perhaps, they can send an SMS to all Singtel 3G subscribers to switch to GSM.

yeah. it was very very fustrating. my uncle almost screamed at them when they said "oh oh..... we finally know what's wrong. our network is down."

evenstar: communication is a bloodly important structure. those words you said are really pissing off people who lost money because of the network breakdown. you imagine in hospital suddenly blackout without backup, i will bash up the manager if they said "things are prone to spoil, just like our transport system. please give us a break."
