May I know what equipments do you use to take these pictures?
Thanks!

just as a note,

it is not just equipment, it is also a willingness to experiment, exposure, technique and composition that makes the picture.

Hi ayatokamina welcome to CS ! It is a community with lots of resources and I am still learning plenty from it.

Thx night86mare for imbuing the gist of the message to our new friend. He is one of the resources as well and u will learn much from him * ( just gotta ask the right questions )

It was actually done with my D80 and a 24mm lens on a tripod with 3 pictures taken ( left middle right ) , and subsequently joined together in photoshop

Hi Night86mare & GiantCanopy, thanks for the reply and advice. Yes, I do agree with night86mare that its also the willingness to experiment.

Actually I'm now still deciding to upgrade to an SLR, currently using a prosumer. So I'm still scouting for ideas/recommendations. heeee..... :)

What attracted me to your pictures are the colours. They are very vibrant and full of contrasts, which is exactly the style I like.

But back to the main topic, I really find your pictures impressive. THey give some kind of inspirations and just changes my mood when I see them (not exaggerating). :)

Thx again ayatokamina :) Your turn will come to inspire others too. Dun think too long deciding. Meanwhile happy shooting

wah biang eh! t/s lens! My favourite! I saw videos shot on t/s lens too! very very nice and everything always looks miniature when shots on wide! The blurriness and the "uprightness" really gave me something to appreciate here once in a while that differs from those photos shots with t/s lens. Nice!:thumbsup:

Your photos are unrealistic - you've presented China town much prettier (really vibrant and energized:heart:) than what it is. Or may be that's what it is but our eyes (and heart) cannot perceive that. Did you also "HDR" them or just stitched the tilts?

Very:thumbsup:

And you could find all the higher grounds...(pl skip the acrobatic part, the pic are good enough)

Hm...I do have plenty of wall space, at home (living rm,bedrm, attic) and at office....

#45 :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
nice roof tops! the T/S very apt here!

I totally agree with Esther! How did you get such pastel colours?

Hello Esther

More than half my panoramas are done with processing multiple exposures. The rest are processed with a single take.

Wall space ? erh ... some people have more wall space. mine very little ...
I got no interesting eye pictures though :P

Pastel colors ? maybe subconsciously processed so : )

Ryan, I'm very impressed with your work... Love your strong sense of composition and use of colours... You have inspired me all over again... Thank you for your sharing

Your pastely landscapes always look very tasty and creamy to me. Eheheheh...

Thx g-khoo and Jia Wang!

Here is something in B&W for a change

Went shopping with my wife at Vivo, but i was somehow really not in the mood to shoot, only managed make one decent shot, taken from ?37degrees ( or was it 36.. cannot remember )

I hardly work with black and white, but since before shooting i preconvieved to have this taken without the distraction of hues. There wasn too much consideration during that 5 min of preplanning, might give some more thoughts to make a reshoot another time.

A tribute to my filter pouch ..

Tried processing this pic on a different terminal after mine crashed.

3 pictures stitched with a 24mm.

8 stop ND, a gentle 2 stop reverse Grad over the sun, 20 seconds exposure helped smoothened the waves somewhat. I wadded out and took this scene in the middle of a rising tide, and lost my VariND filter pouch when the tide crept up on me unknowingly while waiting for my sunset.

It was a wet but fun experience, and i get to give my tripod legs a good salt bath as well.

* There was a guy who was also wearing black ( taking pics ) that came up to us at ard 630pm and said that judging from the clouds there would probably be no visible sunset and left. In the end there was a sunset. Just for that 5 min. I wonder if he got the sunset shot he wanted. Wasn the best of times to shoot, might revisit again in future. The "black patches" in the foreground were actually seaweeds ( on the original size picture you can probably identify them if u r some biologist )

Awesome picture Ryan!

That proves, with alittle bit of patience, it'll all be worth it.

Cheers!

Tide was low then.

It may be common but u've got an eye for something interesting!

Again, wonderfully taken picture. Just wanna ask, what lens were u using taking those shots?

Cheers!

Hi luffs

The last two panoramas were taken with a 24mm PCE lens. Some were taken with an 85mm PC lens or a 28mm PC lens.

Here is a little writeup on how the shifting is done to make a panorama if you are interested.
I will write something about tilting / tilt stitching next time

So a tilt lense can do this?
I guess with a tilt lense, there isn't a need for a ball head for panorama?

It is the shifting that can make a panorama out of the same image circle of the tilt shift / PC lens, the tilt merely adjusts the lens plane at an angle from the sensor / film plane.

However there is a limit to the length of the panorama you can make with these lenses.
With a pano head it depends on how many shots you wanna stitch.

There is a fundamental difference in the way a panorama is made with a shift lens as compared to rotating the lens about the nodal point on a pan head to create the panorama. This difference is usually not great especially if a telephoto lens is used on a pan head.
