is the path leading to the location really dark? can we navigate it without the need for a flashlight?

Haha, i never think of the fireworks will block the background,
thanks bro for pointing out this issue :sweatsm:

Yes it's dark.
But I was lucky as there a ship with strong spot light cleaning the river bed.
so I never think of lunar 7th month,
I only think if snake approaching me, should I run or jump into the water :bsmilie:

I'll go there on 8 Aug, if wanna meetup, which place is better?
Ajunied MRT (to take bus 158) or Costa Rhu Condo ?

Will pm you on whether to meet up. May be we all can meet up at the bus stop at Costa Rhu.

Last time, I thought of ghost, robbers and snakes because that place was not as orderly as now.

actually it's not extremely dark as you know now the moon is nearly full,
so you still can navigate it without a flashlight, moonlight will show you the way ;)

I even hv to use my body to block the light to prevent flare (lens hood already applied).

May be we can start a meetup list here (at Costa Rhu bus stop.) :

1)
2)
3)

What time is appropriate? 8pm? I think getting all the way from the bus stop to the furthest point must need at least 30 minutes.

I would prefer 7pm, so if weather is good, can take some cbd shoot.
And at the same time, to occupy good angle earlier ;p

CBD shots are better taken from Benjamin Shears Bridge.

Yeh, around 7.30pm is the best time to take as the sky still has a bit of light from the sun.

Let's see who else want to join us first before deciding on the time. I have no much problem going earlier but just that I usually like to arrive not too long before an event.

May be someone sees that you're going at 7pm (arrive at location at about 7.30pm), then he goes just slightly earlier.

Anyway, I don't think there will be many people shooting from there because it's a secluded place which few people except the die-hard would go.

Go to go now.

Coming back to check this thread again later tonight.

Cheers!

taken from Benjamin Sheares Bridge will face vibration problem. :dunno:
unless like yesterday, all the cars stop for viewing fireworks :bsmilie:

moral of the story :
1. it's ok to shoot fireworks on Sheares Bridge as all the traffic will stop at that moment, no vibration issue !!
2. never use ECP, especially the Sheares Bridge part, during the fireworks events

yeah... i guess those working would have just finish by then. hence, meeting at 7.30pm is also a squeeze to some. if this Fellowship of the Fireworks is ON, then maybe somebody start a proper list and get contact numbers.

btw, which Costa Rhu bus-stop are you guys refering to? is there a map where it can be pointed out? appreciate that

there's a bus stop near the roundabout,
you can alight AFTER the bus pass the roundabout.
if you're not sure,
just ask the bus driver to inform you when the bus reach the last stop.

The bus will go to a round about, drop at the bus stop after the round about.
Think that should be the last stop and the bus will loop back..

I never thought of using google earth to show the picture.

However, I did use it last week to check out the Marina East Area before I went recce there.

A few years ago, when i went there in the afternoon, there was a helicopter landing patch with the letter "H" on top of the granite coastal bank, right at tip of the coast. From there, can have a breath-taking view of the Marina Bay and CBD area. Now construction works have blocked it off.

One brother pm me for car park infomation,
I think there's no public car park around that area,
The nearest car park should be beside the indoor stadium.
Then hv to walk from indoor stadium to the nearest bus stop to take 158 (see red arrow)
or walk all the way to the Costa Rhu Condo

TanjungRhu01.jpg

the other alternative is park beside the road near Costa Rhu Condo or grass land there,
but I don't know will kena tow or not.....:dunno:

anybody hv better suggestion abt this issue?
