Singapore embraces Digital TV.... your current TV is now obsolete, or soon at least..

If digital TV is upon us, I wish they will bring back DAB.

DAB is dead thru and thru.
With the advent of Internet radio.... the future is Internet streaming Radio at high bit rate when broadband on mobile is on 4G. All cars will be equipped with high bandwidth broadband for TV, radio, internet, GPS,... basically everything. That's when LTA can also do away with the ERP gantry and charge ERP using GPS/A-GPS/Skyhook/Wifi/3G4G triangulation.

Actually we are much behind time and backward compared to others.
Better stop trumpeting. The South Koreans must be laughing at us.
In Malaysia, they have been transmitting via Astro to satellite dishes for so long already.

Satellite broadcast for local market is not necessary since Singapore is small enough to have everyone wired up and still cheaper and better implemented than having satellite dish on every roof. But mediacorp do broadcast over satellite to other countries, for channel news Asia.
We used to be at the forefront of television technology in south east Asia. Now I believe thailand is ahead for broadcasting and recording. Production is another matter.

Anyway ultra broadband Internet to every screen is the way to go in future.

Come 2020, I wonder will there be anyone watching our local free transmission. Already many are not watching their repeated oldies movies other than the so call News.

I think the better option is to watch over the web sites available which are more updated and free! Those poor TCS artists need to look oversea for jobs.
