I recommend OP to lots of people who I know that wants to get camera and stuff.

Maybe nobody recommend becoz they are still one of the "young" shop.

In fact the price quoted is very gd and the shop warranty is really honored by them :thumbsup:

I've bought camera and camera accessories from this 3 shops.
AP @ SLS, Orient @ SLS, MS Color @ AMK Hub.

Of this 3, MS Color gives me the best experience.
I'll definitely go back to that shop.

Orient, they're friendly people.
I do not know y nobody recommend them, but after comparison of price, they're really one of the cheapest.
And they're nice to me too.

AP, most of them are arrogant.(My experience la.)
They recommend you things that they want to clear, but the price is either still the same or more expensive!!!
So, I'll never go back to that shop again.

All this happened to me in left than 5months.

Same sentiments here. But I would say AP does have better service then others. At least they care to explain on the lens and usage. The worse experience are the ones not in SLS. Especially CP, don't know why some of their sales stuff have their eyes grow on their forehead. Afew of my friends encounter bad experience with them.

Ok, side track abit liao. OP is recommended as their service are good. Look for Mr Gong there. He help's quite a fair bit. If u r looking for PI stuff, look for them but not all are lower in price. Depends on the model.

Since we are on this topic, can I ask has anyone purchased any equipment from this shop at SLS?
Shop name is ORIENT PHOTO P/L, #06-53.
I have made afew enquiry and so far the prices they sell is by far the lowest I come across.
Their Canon 40D (body only) is selling at $1800, and I thought I got a good deal at $1850 (cash payment).
My next aim is to get a flash, and once again the price they quoted me is very good to the point of unbelievable.
So has anyone anything to share about this shop?
It's opened by PRCs, their service is still ok, at least not HL like the other shops in SLS.

orient photo? other than gd there isn't any better adj to describe them. Find stanley... he is very warm and the price he quotes are the best. Although at times it might be increased by a single digit difference. THe service there is gd.

i ditto that for OP. They have reasonable prices and I've no qualms about their service.

I guess being situated on the 6th floor of SLS kinda disconnects them from the hustle and bustle of everyday Sim Lim life..

As mention earlier, Orient Photo are quite trustworthly even though it's staff are mainland personnel. Had bought some lens from them and so far so good. All the lens I bought from them are imported from HK, so some have international warrenties and some doesn't. Still, they will give 1 yr shop warrenty and will fix the lens within a week if there's any problem.

If u r looking for camera body, it'll be better to get local or international warrenty type. Unless u r willing to wait for it to send back to HK for repair and back, or else PI cam body won't do u good. Look for Mr Gong also can. He can give u a good price and also guide u on ya new toy. I got my DSLR with kit lens from them since April. So far so good. Small accessories like filters and dry cabinet also no problem with good price. Recently also bought another P&S from them for sch use.

Well, they keep up their words when I bring down my body for a exchange for first week since some dust got into the LCD. After replacement, it had no problem at all along the past 9 months.

Personally, I would am very satisfied with their attitude and way of doing business as they do not force customer to buy things. There was once I was looking to expand my lens collection and came across the sigma 70-300. They shown me the lens and let me play around with it. They advise me to do a little more research before getting it, since they might be able to see that I am on impulse purchase.

Yup, u r right. Just went there again today to get more stuff. Had been deciding on some converters and they let me try and see which one to get. Also, I gotten their china counterparts namecard and see if there's a chance to go there and get some stuff. :thumbsup:

The last e-quote I got from CP about 430EX is $430.... $30 extra, go for popular shops with peace of mind.
