Sigma Vs Tammy 70-200 F2.8

I heard from a700 user saying that sigma always have this kinda problem. a700 will chewed the gear.

But i have a question, if i use a550 for this sigma or tammy 70-200mm, will it be very slow on focusing for tammy?

are they using the old or newer HSM II version? i guess focusing speed here would really depend on the kind of shooting that you will be doing. from reviews, it seems that for static shoot, i think both AF will be considerably about the same. what seems to be an issue is when your subject is moving in which tamron seems to be slower..

i'm using this combination at the moment, doesnt seem to be a problem in good light. will test more when i have the opportunity to go for some test shoots.

i bought the sigma as the tammy was too slow on the long end when i tried it on another system. in alpha sys it might be faster though. the sigma iq is generally ok, but it is soft at the long end wide
