Hi all, any guys here using sigma17-50mm F2.8 EX DC? (canon mount)
i just bought one during xmas and i find it having problem during focusing (in AF mode) when in live view and video mode. It does focus but the focusing ring will produce noise and it doesnt rotate smoothly. i would like to check whether is this normal before i send mine to sigma for checking. thank you very much

For Canon, live view and movie focusing has never been well. Don't worry too much about it. It does happen to my USM lenses too. If you want video filming, get the STM types. They focus silently, although not very fast.
Yes it extended (again) till Jan. Just bought the sigma 17-50.
While buying, heard one of salesman telling someone the promo never end one, keep extending.

Guess so too.
There are also newer one like 17-70(c) having rebate, but only $80.
With the rebate on sigma 17-50 it less than half the price of canon 17-55 new set. Making sigma one worth.
Only dislike on sigma 17-50 is the focus ring turn while focusing and no full time manual focus.
Sometime my fingers touching the focus ring & a "jamming" sound during auto focus, have to remind myself to keep my fingers off the focus ring.
Haha. I pressured myself to buy in hurry. I realised the promo thingy started like jul last yr. Seems like it is permanent.
A bit regret getting 17-50 f2.8 os. Feel there's a weird greeny tint when shooting in incandescent environment. Anyone felt the same? Weird colour n is hard to adjust in software.

Wonderful lens, back to the subject, green tint,
Were u shooting with filter on? Can try taking out the filter too

I am thinking of getting 60mm m4/3 lens. Dont think it will enjoy rebate, right?
On the other hand, will I be able to find sigma lenses at IT shows? Any cheaper?
