if they can reproduce the sharpness as their 50/1.4... but i think AF accuracy is more of an issue than optical performance for sigma.Yes, one less reason for FF owners to brag. :bsmilie:
Anyway, ALL these releases look VERY attractive. But the most pertinent question is: how good are they optically? If they are any good, I can no longer claim the Canon 10-22 and 17-55 f/2.8 IS have no competition in terms of optical performance and features. :bsmilie:
Hopefully, the (i) 8-16 can perform as well as the Canon 10-22 (ii) 17-50 f/2.8 OS does NOT behave like Tamron's 17-50 f/2.8 VR (iii) 85 f/1.4 performs as beautifully as Sigma's 50 f/1.4.
I'd wager the Siggy 85/1.4 will be closer to 1.4k or 1.5k (RRP) - based on estimated current pricing for other makers' 85mm f1.4 offerings (CZ, Nikon, Sony), it should cost a few hundred dollars less. If its RRP is really around 1.2k, maybe can consider. :think:My guess is they will price 85/1.4 ard $1.2k and 70200 OS around $2.4k. Does it still look attractive at these price points?

I'd love to see what kinda distortion there is for the 8-16mm. Any sample pictures?

If it is at >$2.2k range then have to consider Canon 70-200mm F2.8 IS Mk1 instead liao.
However, someone ever told me, if Canon Lens offered USM, all 3rd Party like HSM, etc have to step aside in term of speed, is it true?
before buying my sigma 70-200, I do comparation with Tamron 70-200 f2.8 (that time I has Canon 70-200 f2.8 L non IS which I decide to dump*). I found Tamron IQ is better, but silent focusing makes me choose Sigma.
*dump=sold
I don't think Sigma have Ring Type HSM... most HSM I see is micro motor, so it is similar to Canon's Micro-USM.

Sigma really tot of everything. The hood for the new 70-200 actually is made of 2 parts. Use both for crop sensor!
Later the RRP becomes $1800. lolxI wish Sigma will update its 50-150 F2.8 with OS.
