How about a simple comparison with the Nikon D800E?
Ideally, the lens to be used on the D800E should be a 75mm prime lens but there isn't any such lens in that focal length that I know of or possess. But I do have a AF-S Nikkor 85mm f/1.8G and so I am using this lens on the D800E to compare with the DP3M.
The scene to be shot with the 2 cameras is the distant SingTel Tower from my balconey in mid-morning light at an aperure setting of f/8.0. Because the resolution of the D800E is much higher than that of the DP3M, the image from the D800E would be downsized from 4712 x 7360 to that of the DP2M at 3136 x 4704 before cropping. The longer focal length of the lens and subsequent downsizing should be advantageous to the Nikon D800E, I would think.
