Finally a compact in recent memory that makes sense i.e. no ridiculous ISO, no stupid cramming of pixels.

Now all we need is decent operation speed and Sigma should have a winner here!

Price not decent...

check with HK dealler already, price will be 899-999 SGD when it land on SG/HK

UK and euro price always over price...

maybe S$899-999 for HK market. Sigma SG distributor seem to charge a lot more than HK.

An initial review of the DP-1 - unfortunately it's in Korean. But from the image samples, it seems pretty good.

Here is another link.

I think I am gonna get this.

There are a lot of samples floating around now. One thing is for certain, the images are very sharp, something really good about the lens?

Yeah, the lens does look good, but the sharpness is probably mainly due to the sensor - the foveon sensor doesn't require an AA filter.

But there is one thing I have noticed in the official samples (others have noticed as well), and that in some of the images you can see a slight green cast at the out edges of the image (see the official sample images numbers 10, 14 and 15) - think it is due to the IR filter - easily fixable in software (RAW converter and camera firmware), probably because they are using pre-production cameras. Let's hope they fix it for production cams, but suprised they would not have fixed the images to display as official samples.
