Sigma 60mm F2.8 DN "Art" lens for M4/3

Maybe I am just getting old, but I do not recall any reputable documentation in this forum regarding color issues with these new Sigma ART lenses...So which of these Sigma M4/3 lenses are you refering to that gives (yellow cast) or poor image quality??? You are the one that mentions some form of yellow cast...I hope you will not just repeat stuff unless it has happened to you or is well documented...I could repeat lots of "BS" from the internet and from this forum... but unless it is documented fact ... such as from DP review... or DXO ....its just hearsay ...unless of course...you know personnally of the problem... such as it happened to you... or your friends.... or you observed it... So I ask again...Where did the color cast issue come from??? A lab?? a person you know??? or something you witnessed??? Don't get upset... just point me in the right direction... I am only concerned about the Sigma 19...30...M4/3 ART lenses... The 60 is already proven to be an excellent lense by my own use....I own it... Anyway Cheers...

Here--this forum--and it had nothing to do with micro Four-Thirds lenses. In particular, it was the 30mm f/1.4 lens, which also had focus calibration issues. It wasn't the only one but it was the most notable one here.

Besides, Sigma has been famous for poor image quality as long as they've been making lenses, but the last few have been good. If the 60mm f/2.8 is a good lens for you, great.

Sigma lens i tried 19mm and 30mm. start up loading maybe slower by 1sec? image is very sharp. I LOVE IT!. however you need to change warm balance and not use auto if not the image maybe abit reddish. experienced this for night shots. =)

last time I checked on 13 july the 60mm F2.8 for m4/3 isn't in mscolor, it isn't in Singapore yet

The recent Sigma lenses are making heads turn, not just on a price point but also performance. 19,30,60 mirrorless as well as FF 35/1.4 & APSC 18-35/1.8.

I think they are making a very strong effort to undercut the competition by cutting on margins they earn. Whether the lenses will hold up to tough use remains to be seen.

Well Sigma has a very long track record of building autofocus lenses with motors etc...maybe even longer than Olympus (for AF that is)... and certainly longer than Panasonic...I do not see any reason for Sigma to suddenly fall on their sword... Do you???

But, on the other hand....If you really want tough glass .....use MF lenses...(no motor or electronics to shake loose)... I pull out my EP1 (built like a tank) with a voigtlander or Nikon or Olympus OM lens (all MF) when the going gets a bit rough....:bsmilie:

Possibly, they don't see the mirrorless users to be that rugged in the first place, especially with the smooth surface "art" line. It's actually quite nice looking ;p
For more "rugged" user, the older and cheaper series may be better? Time will tell on lenses build, though at those prices, not really much to complain either, for me at least. the Sigma 60 does looks tempting (price and looks) since i don't do much macro. I seem to be self poisoning here :bsmilie:

Yeah the 18-35/1.8 for APS-C is quite an interesting lens...

Sigma 30mm f1.4 is one of the sharpest portrait pens I have ever used and of blurred edges. But sigma have churned out very good quality lenses. I'm afraid who ever comments on this have never owned sigma lenses. I owned a huge amount of sigma primes

I have only owned one and am pleasantly surprised. To be honest, bought it for the look and the focal length. Was surprised by the IQ.

I must say prior to this, I had low opinion of Sigma. No longer now.

Any way I just ordered the 30mm from BHphoto last night ($199 USd)... I will be ordering the 19mm in a couple of weeks...before my next trip to Bangkok... These should fit in nicely with my Pany 14, Pany 20, and rokinon Fisheye... I hope Sigma re-introduces the 150 f2.8 macro in M4/3 soon... The 4/3 version was a great alternative to the Olympus 150mm F2...at about 1/3rd the price...cheers..

Amazon has free shipping for orders above 125 dollars. Anyone has managed to order from them to deliver to Singapore before? Seems like they sulk pretty badly in that a lot of camera stuff don't have the option to deliver to Singapore

Must I die die go through a third party (like Vpost) to do the delivery??

Yes, it's free shipping only for a limited range of products. Sometimes you can only confirm by checking out the products but without placing an order. The tricky ones are those that can be shipped out of the US (AmazonGlobal eligible) but too bulky to get free shipping eg. monitors.

Normally, if your shipping address on file is in Singapore, the moment you open up the Amazon page for a specific product, it will tell you that it's not shippable to Singapore if that's the case.

I just shipped a portable hdd and some microsd cards w free shipping so the program does work but YMMV!

Sulk? Probably manufacturers' choice, to avoid upsetting their local distributors in other countries. Amazon will only be too happy to be able to sell more items worldwide.

If the item you want is designated for US market only, yes, you'll need to use a freight forwarder like vpost.

Just wondering, comparing pan14mm 2.5 & sigma 19mm 2.8 art, which would you guys prefer?
I compare the two since they are similar in terms of focal Length, aperture, & price.

Actually the 14 is quite a bit wider than the 19... I would need both... I have both the Pany 14... and the Pany 20 (Sig 19 is pretty close to the Pany 20 FOV wise)...
