Sigma 50mm f1.4 - new batch = outstanding performer

It seems that the AF table for the lens has flawed calibration values.

Those who have sent it in to sigma for re-calibration: does it ensure consistent focusing for both near and far objects?

Optically, it is an excellent performer, with less CA wide open than the canon 50mm f1.4, but only if the focus is accurate. The Canon 50mm f1.4 doesn't have the focus shift issues.

i've read that because sigma reverse engineers lenses, they cannot fully calibrate the lens. the default instructions for sigma engineers is to calibrate to the center AF point only - and that sucks.

besides, the ef 50/1.4's bokeh may be a bit harsher, but i think it adds more character.

i m goin there next week, will visit tin cheung for 30mm, wanna tumpang ?? pm me.

It has been some time I have not been to a Pasir Ris park, actually meeting a friend at the bouldering competition to pass her some photography equipments and watch the competition that morning.

But due to some slight miscommunication. We didn't meet that morning... well, I still got about two hours to walk walk around until my work start... so I just walk around the park looking for interesting subject to take... never knew that that area got lot of cats...

Located on a 60-hectare site, the current Mountain Bike trail is seven-km long and has several climbs which include the teletubies land aka La La Land as well as a challenging downhill ride. I can see that the trail is being upgraded to make it even more technically challenging.

The BMX portion of the park is currently used for stunt practice by BMX enthusiasts and free riders. It is being developed into a full-scaled BMX race track for local community use and to host major international events.
