It could be your technique. It is better to test with a focus test chart and see if the lens is indeed ok.

i have tested out with the focus chart.
the focus is quite accurate from f1.4-f2.8
only soften at 1.4 and then it gets better from 1.6 onwards...

You can try on a calculator again.

Agree wif u.

The kinda of lens that's better taken with a tripod even though u have excess light and fast shutter speed. Ironic...

Now that I stablished my camera, how do I freeze the model's eye... Haha, just joking..

Getting really keen in this lens. Any idea if this can be purchased in taiwan at a cheaper price?
Do we have international warranty for sigma?

This is a great lens! Using it on my 5D2 now. Not very sure if Taiwan will be cheaper or not but I think You will find it VERY difficult to make Sigma Service Centre in Singapore to honour the international warrantyeven if there is. Those people in SSC are tough nuts to crack. I read horror stories of them not honouring international warranty and the buyer had to complain all the way to Japan Sigma before they decide to honour the warranty. Do a search in CS or google it to read if you are interested.

Is normal that the focus ring can be turned even that the lens is set to AF mode? Cos mine does. Unlike my canon lens, is locked.

yep, it's a full time manual lens =3=

hi everyone,

sorry if my question has been asked before , but i was curious as i had just inquire a price quote for the 50mm from 2 different shops and both shops are not selling grey set
yet the price difference is about 80 sgd. so i was wondering what cause the price difference?is it regarding the warranty?

By looking at the warranty card you will be
able to tell

Yeah i did as suggested, one carries 1 yr shop warranty and the other one official 2 year sigma warranty :)

Best to buy the one with local warranty then..
