Just got the Sigma 50... will have a play for a while... maybe an Otus in DEC.... Maybe.

Got one from B&H (in the states). Used with D800.... When in focus, the lens is stellar (manual focus with live view on tripod). Very sharp compared to the older sigma which I own. The lens has really good micro contrast, and the color rendition looks neutral to me. Af speed is fast too compared to the 50mm f/1.4G.
However, one big issue I have with the lens is the AF on my D800 body (Nope, this is not the left AF back focusing problem from ages ago). If I adjust for the center AF point to be in focus (AF fine tune +10), the side AF points backfocus. This is reminiscent of my experience with the 35mm art as well. Back then, I had to exchange for a second copy at sgcamerastore before I got something that focuses correctly throughout the af range, so I am hopeful that this too is just a QC problem.
Another problem I noticed (this is a little subjective) is the misfocus rate. I was getting a pretty bad rate of 40% misses, which is quite high for any lens to be honest. The dock won't be able to fix these problem unfortunately. I am exchanging it for a new copy but due to stock limitation, it will not arrive for another couple weeks at least. Hopefully, like the previous problem, it is a QC issue and not an inherent lens problem.
If anyone else is experiencing the same issues, do share it!
P.S. To keep this short, I won't be posting exif, sample photos, how I took the shots etc. Take my subjective words for it. Just wanted to let people be aware that if the lens give you funky images, there is a possibility that you may have a bad copy of a supposedly great lens, and that you are not alone.

I would like to get a nikon mount for this lens. Any one has lobang? Can't seem to find it in stores. It's so limited out there.

Just bought my Sigma 50 1.4 Art from MS Colour for $10xx (nets) and test drove it at the Botanic Gardens with my 6D (1st photo was at AMK)... All photos (no post-editing other than cropping) were taken at f1.4. Struggled a bit as f1.4 has narrow depth of field but the bokeh is nice and so is the sharpness (may not be evident on your computer screen)

Does anyone has sharpness issue at f1.4? Mine copy is somewhat soft as compared to what I've heard from others and reviews... Have tested using both 6D and 7D and results are the same. Sharpness is acceptable at 2.0 and 2.8. Appreciate your feedback
share some fulk=l size samples on flickr? i find mine sharp at f1.4
