Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens


Been wanting to get a fast 50mm lens for quite a long time.
This new Sigma 50...does look very good and for its price..(alot cheaper than other top grade 50s)

Sony user here..would really love to see how it compares side by side with the SAL50F1.4Z.. (which cost approx $1688 at local shops)..

Anyway, for those asking how does this compares against the Canon 50F1.2L. This is what i found.

For Sony users, can also compare with the 55mm 1.8.

Is the 50mm in the shops already?

Most comparisons are done with Canon's 50mm f/1.2L. Sample images look good but wonder how it compares with Canon's 50mm f/1.4.

The price (likely more than S$1.1k) and size/weight (>800g?!) are probably the minus points. Too big and heavy for a standard lens.

gonna go to my usual shop to collect tomorrow kekeke....

can tell you price ranges between 10XX - 11XX based on which shop you call.

Test on Sony a7R with Techart adapter. AF works but is not accurate. RAW untouched exported from LR5.
